Ardurra is seeking a Senior Water Resources Stream Designer to join our Watershed Practice. As a trusted leader in providing reliable and innovative stormwater solutions across the Southeast, we offer tailored and cost‑effective approaches to protect public safety, improve watershed functions, and enhance quality of life. As advisors to municipal clients, we guide communities in developing sustainable stormwater programs. Our expertise includes watershed planning, asset management, NPDES permitting, water quality and quantity control, and capital design projects.
PrimaryFunction
The Water Resources Stream Designer is responsible for designing stream restoration and stabilization projects that improve watershed health, restore natural hydrology, protect utilities, and support ecological balance. You’ll work closely with engineers, ecologists, and planners to develop sustainable solutions for urban stream systems across a variety of landscapes. Under general mentorship, the role may also provide direction to junior engineers on projects that focus on managing runoff, preventing flooding, and protecting water quality.
PrimaryDuties
- Design stream restoration, stabilization, and enhancement projects using geomorphic and ecological principles.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using software such as SWMM, HEC‑RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS tools.
- Prepare construction documents including plan sets, grading plans, erosion/sediment control plans, and technical specifications.
- Conduct site evaluations and assist in environmental impact assessments.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative watershed planning and stormwater management solutions.
- Assist in field inspections, data collection, and site assessments.
- Participate in public outreach, stakeholder engagement, and project presentations as needed.
- Bachelor's in Civil, Environmental Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related disciplines.
- Approximately 8 or more years of experience in water resources and stream restoration or stabilization.
- Exposure to stormwater modeling software (HEC‑RAS, SWMM, Hydro
CAD), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS applications is a plus. - PE certification (or ability to obtain within one year) is preferred but not required.
