Software Engineer Staff – Level 4

Lockheed Martin is looking for a Software Engineer Staff to join our Simulation and Systems Labs (SSL) Systems Engineering team. The SSLT team is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems used for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery.

• Utilizing standard engineering practices to develop models for complex software systems and applications.
• Collaborating within a cross‑functional team—including systems engineering, operations engineering, hardware engineering, and project leadership—to facilitate technical discussions and estimates.
• Deriving and applying knowledge of various avionics, navigation, and communication Interface Control Documents.
• Developing modern Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to integrate into simulation environments, providing an intuitive and user‑friendly experience for operators and users.
• Developing innovative solutions to integrate components that have not been previously used together, often requiring outside‑the‑box thinking.

Position:
Marietta, GA. This role requires U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance, and successful completion of a drug and background check.

• Experience developing software in Java.
• Experience with Gitlab.
• Experience with Jenkins.
• Experience with software test pipelines.
• Avionics background.
• Linux operating system experience.
• Familiarity with digital bus architectures.
