Open‑E Certified Engineer (OECE) Training Agenda and Location Training Agenda

During each OECE Training, we provide our trainees with an in-depth technical background of the technologies we use, live demos of our software, and plenty of practical, real-life exercises on the following topics:

  • Introduction to Open-E Jovian

    DSS, its features, and Data Storage technologies
  • Jump Start to software management
  • Open-E On- & Off-site Data Protection
  • iSCSI and Fibre Channel High Availability Cluster
  • Monitoring Open-E Jovian

    DSS with
  • Identifying problems and providing support
  • And more!

After a comprehensive set of lectures, demos and practice, all participants can test themselves by taking an exam.
Passing this exam means being granted an Open-E Jovian

DSS Certified Engineer title

. Such certification proves that an engineer gained a comprehensive knowledge of solving first-level issues, and thus, can work efficiently with the Open-E software and implement the software in an IT environment.

Training Locations

On-site OECE Training

We encourage you to take part in live, on-site training sessions not only because it is an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, meet with people who have similar interests, and spend some quality time learning together. Most importantly, running the OECE Training sessions in physical classrooms by engineers who are fans of the technology that we develop is simply a one-of-a-kind experience.

Online OECE Training

Due to the pandemic and worldwide lockdowns, it’s been hard organizing any gatherings in person. In order to respond to the needs of OECE candidates from all around the world, we have started organizing the training sessions online, which turned out to be a huge success.

Training Basic Requirements

To be eligible to apply for the training, a candidate must be employed by companies registered as Open-E Partners, either an Authorized, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Additionally, engineers attending the course are required to have:

  • Previous experience as a storage engineer
  • Good technical knowledge about server setups and storage environments
  • Basic knowledge about Open-E Jovian

    DSS and/or previous software versions
