Software Engineer, Systems Engineer
This is an opportunity to work on the Simulation and Systems Labs (SSL) Systems Engineering team. SSLT is a highly innovative team responsible for developing, testing and maintaining aircraft simulation systems and subsystems utilized for aircraft capability integration and weapons systems development from concept design through production and delivery.
Responsibilities- Designing and developing software models in a simulation environment for Air Mobility and Maritime Missions (AMMM) projects.
- Utilizing standard engineering practices to develop models for complex software systems and applications.
- Collaborating within a cross‑functional team, including systems engineering, operations engineering, hardware engineering, and project leadership to facilitate technical discussions and estimates.
- Deriving and applying knowledge of various avionics, navigation, and communication interface control documents.
- Developing modern Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) to integrate into simulation environments, providing an intuitive and user‑friendly experience for operators and users.
- Developing innovative solutions to integrate components that have not been previously used together, often requiring outside‑the‑box thinking.

Position is in Marietta, GA.
Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in STEM/technical discipline.
- Simulation and model software development experience.
- Experience developing software in Ada, C++, and/or Python.
- Familiarity with digital bus architectures.
- Experience developing software in Java.
- Experience with Git Lab.
- Experience with Jenkins.
- Experience with SW Test Pipelines.
- Avionics background.
- Linux OS experience.

Work ScheduleLockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40‑hour over a five‑day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.
Pay and BenefitsPay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position is $113,900 – $200,905 (depending on location). Benefits offered include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
