The Walker School is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and enhance the financial, operational, and strategic future of our vibrant independent school community.
The Role:As CFO, you will be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, working closely with the Head of School, Board of Trustees, and department leaders to ensure the financial sustainability and operational excellence of our institution. You'll provide strategic counsel while overseeing finance, facilities, technology, risk management, food services, safety & security, and budgeting—all in support of our mission to develop tomorrow’s leaders.
Key
Responsibilities:Strategic & Operational Leadership: Shape and execute financial strategies that align with Walker’s long-term vision.Financial Stewardship & Budgeting: Develop and manage multi-year financial plans and annual budgets.Operational Oversight: Lead Business Office, Facilities, Technology, Risk Management, School Store, Summer Programs, and more.Governance & Community Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison for the Board’s Finance, Investment, and Buildings & Grounds Committees.Who You Are:Financial Strategist – You have 10+ years of progressive leadership in financial and operational management.Independent School or Non-Profit Pro – You understand GAAP, budget planning, and nonprofit financial management.Visionary Leader – You excel at strategic planning and implementing long-term financial sustainability.Collaborative Partner – You build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups with exceptional communication skills.Detail-Oriented & Data-Driven – You love numbers, but you also know how to tell the story behind them.Tech-Savvy – Proficient in financial software, Microsoft Office, and G Suite.Qualifications:Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required; CPA strongly preferred.Expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.Experience in independent school or non-profit environments is highly desirable.The Perks:Competitive salary & benefits (medical, vision, dental, retirement plans).Dynamic and mission-driven school culture.Opportunities for professional development & leadership growth.Join Us!If you are ready to bring your expertise, leadership, and vision to The Walker School, we’d love to hear from you!
