Tax Accountant

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities; collaborate on international tax returns
• Ensure clients comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Assist in developing tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax benefits
• Advise clients on tax compliance matters and assist in resolving disputes with tax authorities
• Support clients in implementing tax-saving opportunities, including credits, deductions, and incentives
• Analyze financial statements, income statements, and balance sheets to identify tax implications and optimization opportunities
• Conduct financial modeling and forecasting to evaluate the impact of tax strategies
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients by providing proactive, high-quality tax advice
• Serve as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
• Collaborate with managers and team members to ensure timely communication, delivery on deadlines, and high client satisfaction
• Assist with other projects or departments during low-tax periods as needed
• Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Enrolled Agent or CPA license
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Tax
• Prior experience in a CPA firm is a big plus
• Experience with Ultra Tax and/or other tax preparation software
• Knowledge and understanding of individual and business taxes
• International tax experience is a plus
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Thrives in a collaborative, team-player office environment
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
