This position is responsible for ensuring the safety of donors and the purity of product as a result of the plasma collection process. You will monitor donors throughout the collection process for equipment errors, donor reactions, or any unexpected events, taking appropriate actions when necessary.
Must be capable of interpreting the results of the health history and vital signs in relation to the criteria as outlined in the company procedures. Responsibilities on the donor room floor include the set‑up of automated collection instruments, monitoring donors through the collection process, disconnection of donors from the automated instrument, and the management of Level 1 reactions. You will ensure product integrity, disposition of products, collection of appropriate samples, and proper freezing and storage according to ADMA procedures.
You will stage units for shipment and samples for testing, physically arrange samples and cases in the freezer to ensure organization, and interact professionally and courteously with donors at all times.
Teamwork, respect, and courtesy with coworkers are required. You will take initiative to elevate work‑related skills toward the Advanced Phlebotomist position. In addition to completing and maintaining the qualification of a phlebotomist, cross‑training and successful qualification for plasma processing and donor screener functions is a standard expectation of the role.
