Respiratory Therapist II

The Respiratory Therapist II provides advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in complex clinical situations, primarily in critical care areas. Responsibilities include ventilator management, airway procedures, arterial blood gas analysis, and patient education. The role involves collaborating with healthcare teams, mentoring staff and students, and ensuring safe, quality patient care aligned with evidence-based practices.

• Perform patient assessments, therapy planning, and medication administration
• Manage ventilators, conduct weaning, and interpret waveforms
• Administer aerosolized medications, perform airway management, and assist with invasive/non-invasive procedures
• Educate patients, families, and support staff while promoting a safe environment
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with policies

• Associates or Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy (preferred)
• Certifications:
  
  NBRC-RRT, RCP, BLS, and ACLS (required upon hire)
• 0-2 years of clinical experience, with at least 6 months in critical care
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships
