The Director of People & Culture is a key member of the Club’s Executive Leadership Team, responsible for fostering a positive, service-driven culture that reflects the Club’s values of excellence, integrity, and hospitality. This role oversees all aspects of human resources, talent management, organizational culture, and team member engagement to ensure the Club remains an employer of choice in the private club industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Culture
- Serve as a strategic partner to the General Manager/COO and Executive Team in developing a high-performing, inclusive, and member-focused workplace culture.
- Champion the Club’s mission, values, and service standards through leadership, communication, and example.
- Design and lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement, morale, and retention.
- Promote a workplace that prioritizes professionalism, respect, and continuous learning.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and orientation for all departments, ensuring top-tier talent and alignment with the Club’s service philosophy.
- Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs and build strong candidate pipelines.
- Develop and manage training programs focused on leadership development, service excellence, and compliance.
- Implement succession planning to strengthen the Club’s leadership bench.
Employee Relations & Performance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and team members, fostering open communication and conflict resolution.
- Oversee performance management programs, including evaluations, goal setting, and coaching.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of Club policies, procedures, and disciplinary actions.
Compensation, Benefits & Compliance
- Oversee the administration of compensation programs, benefits, and recognition initiatives that attract and retain top talent.
- Partner with the CFO/Controller to ensure equitable and competitive pay structures.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal labor regulations.
- Manage workers’ compensation, safety programs, and risk management initiatives related to personnel.
Organizational Strategy
- Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to guide HR strategy and support the Club’s long-term goals.
- Partner with leadership on wellness and community engagement initiatives.
- Lead or support cross-departmental projects that impact the overall employee and member experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Hospitality Management, or related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally in hospitality, luxury service, or private club environments.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and talent development.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Reporting Relationship
Will report to the General Manager and is a part of the MCC Executive Team. As part of the Executive Team the Director of People and Culture works closely with all Department Heads to assure operational excellence for all club operations.
