Job Summary:
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers who ensure that patients, families and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. This role is supported by the Well Star Shared Governance Model, Well Star Professional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing, and evidence‑based practice and research. The RN upholds Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act, Scope of Practice, and ANA Code of Ethics, supporting patient voice, system policies, and service excellence goals.
Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions- Exemplary Practice and Outcomes: Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice; utilize analytical/critical thinking; coordinate care through effective partnerships that center caring as the foundation for optimal patient outcomes.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population characteristics (e.g., age, gender, disease) and adapt service delivery to reflect cultural diversity.
- Partner with patients and significant others, using appropriate methods (e.g., bedside shift report, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) to keep patients updated and focus on patient goals.

Collaboration:
Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care promoting the professional care delivery model; use interdisciplinary communication methods (rounds, case review); document timely; promote respectful, inclusive environment. - Show teamwork and fiscal responsibility, supporting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, shared governance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Professional Development and Initiative: Complete all initial and ongoing competency assessments, mandatory education, and population‑specific education; serve as preceptor/mentor to other professional nurses and staff.
- Evidence-Based Practice and Research: Promote EBP, nursing research, and performance improvement; participate in data collection, raise clinical questions, consult experts, and apply evidence to practice.
- Uphold all organizational policies, procedures, and clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with TJC Patient Safety Goals and Wellstar safety absolutes.
- Resources and Support: Proactively plan patient care across the continuum; develop protocols and procedures; support efficient use of human and material resources.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards, and code of conduct.
Minimum Education
- Accredited Nursing Program or Bachelor's Nursing (Preferred)
- RN – Regular State or RN‑COMPACT (Multi‑state Compact)
- BLS – Basic Life Support or BLS‑I – Basic Life Support Instructor
- 1 year OR Circulating Experience
- Read, write, and speak English; basic computer skills and technology utilization.
- Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and customer service skills.
- Ability to function in fast‑paced environment, respond to emergencies, and maintain composure.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Proficiency in evidence‑based practice and critical thinking.
