Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview
Maintenance Technician A (III) at Transdev in Marietta, Georgia. This role requires an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. The technician will help ensure safety, efficiency, and longevity of diesel-powered assets.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic tests to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
- 1 year of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s Tool Set.
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.
- $35.50 per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale).
- Vacation: up to 5 days per year.
- Paid Sick Leave: 8 hrs monthly for full-time employees; 5 hrs monthly for part-time employees.

- Company-paid ASE testing, training materials, and tool reimbursement.
