Overview
Join Transdev in Marietta, GA as an Electronics Technician. This role performs basic mechanical and electrical maintenance to a variety of electrical systems, subsystems, and components on transit vehicles, including the transit bus electronic system, destination signs, AVL/CAD, and fare collection equipment.
Responsibilities- Install, remove and test electronic vehicle equipment, farebox equipment, vault boxes, and receivers
- Read and comprehend manuals and diagrams; test and analyze system functionality
- Inspect and determine the nature and extent of repair or replacement needed; clean fare stands, vault boxes, and vault receivers
- Repair circuits, jams, and component failures; report unusual conditions or needed repairs
- Complete work orders, PM sheets, and request parts for repair
- Maintain repair records; use mechanical hand tools, special tools and fixtures
- Maintain a secured work area of electronic fare revenue equipment; perform other duties as assigned or required
- Training in electronics and repairs; courses in basic electricity, electronics, general shop, and vehicle repair preferred
- Hands-on experience with electronics testing and circuits
- ASE Certifications preferred, especially H6 (Electrical)
- Valid Driver's License; ability to obtain a CDL Class B license
- 3–5 years of experience in electrical and mechanical repair with ability to diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical problems
- Ability to troubleshoot, replace and calibrate electronic communication and mechanical revenue handling equipment; understand system schematics and drawings; perform basic math
- Familiarity with diagnostic software and systems such as AVL, GPS, CAD, and APC
- Electronics tool set
- Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical, as applicable; DOT 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits Schedule I drug use
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed
- Occasional long periods of sitting, typing, or computer use
- Work environment may be indoors or outdoors
- Vacation: up to 5 days per year
