• Establish and maintain a good working knowledge of all delivery routes and customers.
• Dispatch delivery drivers to include providing routes/assignments each day.
• Monitor delivery drivers throughout the day using Mobile Cast.
• Handle calls from delivery drivers, accounts and sales personnel and try to resolve issues as they arise.
• Respond timely to phone calls from Drivers and Sales (and if applicable, 3PL customers).
• Provide direction to delivery drivers on how to handle situations that arise while making deliveries or taking back returns.
• Works with customer service on missed deliveries and turn arounds.
• Contact accounts to advise of late deliveries or inability to make deliveries in that day and follow up with sales personnel.
• Research and coordinates distribution of invoices to field and sales reps.
• Tracks daily exceptions by entering them into the system and providing a daily report to management.
• Provides updates on driver statistics for start and end of day.
• Responsible for assisting with safety programs, including investigation of accidents and injuries.
• Help make recommendations to prevent future incidents.
• Meets agreed upon goals and objectives effectively and in a timely manner.
• Arrives to work, meetings, appointments and other work-related functions in prop time.
• Assists with administrative functions supporting the transportation department to include, but not limited to daily, weekly and/or monthly reporting and DOT programs such as random drug testing and MVR reports.
