QA Inspector

Trident Maritime Systems is seeking a QA Inspector to conduct quality assurance audits, inspections, and evaluations of marine products and services, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor overall production processes to ensure work procedures and requirements are followed.
• Determine overall production quality by conducting inspections and evaluating product and process tests.
• Perform inspections and audits on products and processes to confirm conformance to established procedures.
• Confirm shop and ship audit procedures are properly carried out and documented.
• Conduct receiving inspections and resolve quality issues as they arise.
• Draft and submit material deficiency reports and document nonconforming material.
• Ensure necessary rework or repairs are performed and documented.
• Provide documentation for acquisition of replacement material or vendor support for repairs.
• Educate and instruct shop and ship personnel on quality procedures, customer requirements, testing, and documentation.
• Consult with production management and personnel to improve overall efficiency and productivity.
• Serve as focal point for the team when critical quality issues arise and prepare production evaluation reports for the Manager, QA Services.
• Assist in development of special departmental projects and collaborate with the Manager.
• Train and prepare new employees for the QA Inspector role.
• Perform internal audits and address non‑conformities from internal and external audits.
• Collect data for Management Review of the Quality System and manage preventive and corrective action requests.
• Monitor surveillance inspections to confirm the effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Administer document control, configuration management, and calibration/testing programs.

• At least 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a track record as a QA Technician.
• Experience with Quality System rules and regulations (e.g., ISO, applicable maritime standards).
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent planning, organizing, and quality monitoring abilities.
• Adaptability to changing work environments and competing demands.
• Dependability, punctuality, and adherence to management instructions.
• Commitment to safety, security procedures, and training of others.
• Proficiency with PC-based tools:
  Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• High school diploma or GED (additional qualifications preferred).

Hands and fingers to handle or feel objects; frequent use of hands. Regular sitting, occasional walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lb. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Noise level varies; work performed in production facilities and onsite ship and shop locations.
