MRO Buyer

The Department of Purchasing, Materials and Machinery Purchasing is seeking a candidate to provide support to the Purchasing department.

Position Summary:
This position will function to provide support to the Purchasing department.

Position Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:

• Participate in the MRO Cost Reduction Strategy Development and Implementation.
• Develop and maintain reports that show progress towards goals.
• Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals.
• Cooperate with cross-function team to execute purchasing activities with suppliers and potential suppliers.
• Participate in cost reduction activity in cooperation with AISIN affiliated companies.
• Total supply chain cost analysis.
• Analysis of various inputs and conditions from cross-functional departments to find cost savings opportunities.
• Assess prospective suppliers for new model programs and localization activities.
• Responsible for document control for material RFQ’s, LOI's, ECI's, and quotations.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, confidentiality agreements, master purchase agreements, changes in process, terms, engineering requirements, and other items as required with suppliers.
• Detail quotation analysis for all cost drivers.
• Prepare reports and presentations as necessary.
• Gain consensus from various manufacturing plants and recommend potential suppliers.
• Act as Supplier champion to AISIN and voice of AISIN to supplier.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Essential

Skills and Experience:

• Understanding of how MRO supports a manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of how distribution works in the supply chain.
• Proficient in supplier negotiations.
• Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of MRP systems.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

• Understanding of commodity market trends.
• Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or technical field is preferred.
