The Department of Purchasing, Materials and Machinery Purchasing is seeking a candidate to provide support to the Purchasing department.
Position Summary:
This position will function to provide support to the Purchasing department.
Position Responsibilities:
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Participate in the MRO Cost Reduction Strategy Development and Implementation.
- Develop and maintain reports that show progress towards goals.
- Issue purchase orders for MRO items that support cost, quality and delivery goals.
- Cooperate with cross-function team to execute purchasing activities with suppliers and potential suppliers.
- Participate in cost reduction activity in cooperation with AISIN affiliated companies.
- Total supply chain cost analysis.
- Analysis of various inputs and conditions from cross-functional departments to find cost savings opportunities.
- Assess prospective suppliers for new model programs and localization activities.
- Responsible for document control for material RFQ’s, LOI's, ECI's, and quotations.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, confidentiality agreements, master purchase agreements, changes in process, terms, engineering requirements, and other items as required with suppliers.
- Detail quotation analysis for all cost drivers.
- Prepare reports and presentations as necessary.
- Gain consensus from various manufacturing plants and recommend potential suppliers.
- Act as Supplier champion to AISIN and voice of AISIN to supplier.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential
Skills and Experience:
- Understanding of how MRO supports a manufacturing plant.
- Knowledge of how distribution works in the supply chain.
- Proficient in supplier negotiations.
- Proficient with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MRP systems.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Understanding of commodity market trends.
- Working knowledge of ERP procedures/concepts.
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain or technical field is preferred.
