Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership career? AISIN Manufacturing Illinois (AMI) is seeking a dedicated and motivated Team Lead to join our Sunroof Inspection Department on 2nd Shift
. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll guide a team of production associates to meet daily targets for safety, quality, and output in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Team Lead, you will be the critical link between hourly team members and department leadership. You’ll assign tasks, ensure adherence to standard work procedures, troubleshoot issues, and foster a positive and productive team culture. This position plays a key role in driving safety initiatives, continuous improvement activities, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of a production line in the SRI Department
- Assign team members to positions based on staffing and production needs
- Monitor performance, conduct standardized work audits, and support team development
- Review production reports and lead daily shift communication with team members
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, proper use of PPE, and ergonomic best practices
- Perform quality checks and assist with investigation and documentation of defects
- Respond to production issues (andon calls, stop calls) and help implement quick countermeasures
- Coordinate tool repairs, part shortages, and equipment concerns with appropriate departments
- Support cross-shift communication and collaboration with other Team Leads and Supervisors
- Assist with training, Kaizen (continuous improvement) activities, and 5S implementation
- Maintain accurate documentation including PM check sheets, quality reports, and training logs
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a leadership role in manufacturing, ideally in an automotive or high-volume setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Attention to detail with a focus on quality and safety
- Ability to problem-solve and make quick decisions in a production environment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, standardized work) is a plus
- Willingness to work 2nd shift and support a physically active role on the production floor
