Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts

• 36 guaranteed hours per week (48 hours available upon request)

• 13-week contract length

• Float to step-down level care when needed

• Every other weekend and every other holiday rotation required

• Must have current Illinois license

• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS

• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required, 3 years preferred

• 1 travel assignment required

• Must demonstrate strong neuro assessment skills and NIHSS/dysphagia screening capabilities

• Tele/EKG interpretation skills required (exam given first day)

• ETT/vent management experience needed

• Experience with initiation and titration of sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and insulin

• Knowledge of sepsis protocols and post-ROSC therapeutic hypothermia protocols required

• Preferred experience with tPa administration and massive transfusion protocols

• Patient ratios: ICU 2:1, Step-down 3:1

• Charge nurse takes patients

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Associate degree or certificate required

• Must be hard-working, resilient, and manage change well

This medical center operates an 18-bed ICU that serves patients requiring both intensive care and step-down levels of care. The facility features a strong core nursing staff and maintains comprehensive critical care capabilities including advanced cardiac monitoring, ventilator management, and specialized neurological protocols. The unit emphasizes teamwork and provides respiratory therapy support along with access to advanced medical equipment for complex patient care needs.
