RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts on a 22-bed neuro unit

• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week

• Patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse carrying patient assignment

• Care for neuro and neuro-surgical patients including CVAs, elective back/neck surgeries, cerebral angiograms, and general medical patients

• May float to medical unit as needed

• Work every other weekend and every other holiday

• Required certifications:
Illinois RN license, AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS

• Minimum 2 years med surg/tele experience, 1 travel assignment, and neuro experience required

• Recent EPIC charting experience required

• Must be comfortable with medical overflow patients and perform NIHSS/dysphagia screens

• Skills include strong neuro assessments, basic tele interpretation, strict I&Os, catheter insertion, heparin drip management, blood product administration, venipuncture, NG tubes, and drain management

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills required

• Navy blue scrubs required

• Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred

• No local candidates within 40-mile radius accepted
