You can work as much or as little as you like as an On-Demand Team Member (TM) and your schedule may vary depending on shift availability and store needs. This role is ideal for those who are looking for a personalized work schedule. As an On-Demand TM, you will not be included on the posted weekly schedule, but will have the opportunity to create your own schedule by picking up shifts posted by leaders or other team members (via our myTime mobile scheduling app) that work best with your schedule.
When you choose to pick up a shift, reliable and prompt attendance is necessary. You must engage by picking up and working shifts at least once every 4 weeks (minimum of four hours). Flexibility can be granted in certain circumstances, but you need to respond to our attempts to contact you to confirm your interest in working shifts you do not respond, your employment may be terminated.
If you do not work at least one shift within 5 months, your employment may be administratively terminated. You will be required to attend a Target Welcome orientation and commit to a short-term structured training schedule. After that, the myTime app is where you can pick up the shifts you desire to work.

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction, loyalty enrollment and store cleanliness. Advocates of both in-store and digital services and solutions who are knowledgeable about capabilities and features that drive adoption, usage and loyalty. Empowered to make shopping quick and easy for guests at the checklanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up while ensuring exceptional quality.
You will be an Advocate who helps guests with various needs and learns skills to support a career role can provide you with the following skills:
- Communicating and interacting with guests to build an inclusive guest experience
- Blending problem solving and decision making to positively impact the guest experience and resolve concerns
- Adapting to different guest interactions and situations
- Promoting and engaging around benefits, offerings and services
- Demonstrate a service culture by delivering the service standard and creating a welcoming experience
- Greet guests and assist with daily tasks, solving their specific needs
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services to solve issues and improve guest experience
- Thank guests for shopping with Target
- Scan and bag items efficiently in accordance with food safety standards and practices
- Minimize guest wait time while maintaining service accuracy
- Inform guests about current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
- Explain Target Loyalty benefits and assist with enrollment; direct guests to fulfillment services as needed
- Demonstrate how to use Wallet and Target App features
- Handle returns following policies; escalate to leaders as needed
- Partner with leaders to de-escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience
- Deliver easy and accurate service for Order Pick Up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and stock supplies during store hours
- Follow safety policies and report hazards
- Support guest services such as order pickup and Drive-Up orders and compliance with relevant laws
- Assist with Cash Office processes as needed
- All other duties based on business needs

- Ability to operate handheld scanners and other technology; work both independently and as part of a team
- Accurately handle cash transactions and support cash office operations as needed
- Ability to lift up to 44 pounds with or without assistance; lift/move merchandise up to 10 pounds regularly
- Flexibility to pick up shifts to meet store needs
- Must work at least one shift within 5 months or risk administrative termination
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments (Drive-Up, carryout, etc.)
- Must be mobile for the duration of the shift
