Summary of Position

This Enrollment Counselor position plays a vital role in guiding high school graduates through the college admissions process from initial inquiry to enrollment. The role represents the university at recruitment events, college fairs, transfer fairs, and campus visit days, serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students, families, and high school or community college counselors.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Conduct virtual and in‑person admission appointments, interviews, and information sessions.
  • Manage an assigned territory or program portfolio to meet or exceed enrollment key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Represent the university at recruitment events, college fairs, transfer fairs, and campus visit days (some travel required).
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in financial aid, advising, and evaluation to ensure a seamless student experience.
  • Apply enrollment and contact strategies to serve students in a timely manner through the discovery, admissions, and enrollment process.
  • Coach students through a healthy process of discovery and exploration of their education options, building rapport, uncovering concerns, and exploring learning styles.
Qualifications

According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy, all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Enrollment Counselor II with IWU; or three (3) years of commensurate experience in higher education enrollment, recruitment, or equivalent.
Required Skills
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with technology and multi‑tasking skills.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding service to students and stakeholders.
  • Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends for events and peak recruitment periods.
