About the RoleThis position if for off shift ( 2nd or 3rd shift) all training will be done on 1st shift.
The Medium Motors Mechanic Level II plays a critical role in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of medium-sized motorized equipment within professional, scientific, and technical service environments. This position involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of medium motors to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency. By applying advanced mechanical knowledge and hands-on expertise, the role contributes directly to the safety, productivity, and longevity of essential equipment.
Ultimately, the Medium Motors Mechanic Level II ensures that all motor systems operate within specified parameters, supporting the broader goals of the organization’s technical services.
- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of a recognized mechanical or technical training program.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Basic mechanical aptitude. Ability to understand, preform and retain various skills-related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by supervisor.
Physical AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs; talk and hear.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Clearly see 20+ ft. with or without corrective lenses. Have ability for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Read Job card to determine: job status, authorizations/limitations, estimate, description of problems, and /or expected serviceability.
Test electromechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (AC or DC).
Disassemble electromenchanical equipment noting parts identification, configuration and condition.
Clean electromechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to: parts washer, steamer, caustic tanks, lass beaders, etc.
Measure for or note proper replacement parts. Correctly requisition needed items from service office, as approved by supervisor.
Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electromechanical assemblies, including but not limited to: bearings, brushes, brush holders, motor leads, gears, seals, impellers, mechanical switches, brakes, clutches, clutch rotors, tachs, fans, end shields, etc.
Retest reassembled electromechanical equipment for proper output and operations.
Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment as needed.
Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear (especially eye and ear protection).
Lift, tighten, adjust and / or secure heavy objects in order to perform work duties.
Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor.
Assist other mechanics or other service center personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor or service center manager.
