Underground Utility Locator

Overview

Join Vannguard Utility Partners, Inc. as an Underground Utility Locator. You’ll work outdoors, driving company vehicles to job sites, using maps and specialized equipment to locate underground utilities and ensure safety for excavation, landscaping, and construction projects.

$20.00 – $26.00 per hour.

• Drive a company vehicle directly from home to job sites for routine tickets, emergencies, and relocations.
• Use mapping tools and locating equipment to identify underground utilities such as electric, gas, telephone, and other communication lines.
• Mark utility locations with paint or flags and communicate relevant information to excavation personnel or authorities.
• Respond to after‑hours emergency call‑outs per the rotation schedule.

• Computer skills
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment
• Ability to work overtime when required
• Completion of Vannguard’s drug‑free workplace program and pre‑employment drug screening
• Strong self‑management and communication skills with supervisors and clients

• Drive 50 to 300+ miles daily as needed.
• Get in and out of a vehicle 50+ times a day.
• Stand and walk >1 mile over uneven terrain in all weather.
• Sit for long periods while driving.
• Lift or move 50 to 150 pounds.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

High school or equivalent (Required).

Driver’s license (Required).

Multiple locations.

Full‑time.

This position is outdoors and involves minimal contact and interaction with others.

• 10‑hour shift
