Overview
Delivery Specialist will maintain and operate store vehicles to deliver parts and/or products to professional customers in a safe and efficient manner. This position will also collect money on C.O.D. deliveries and pick up customer returns.
Bilingual candidates encouraged.
Responsibilities- Operate company vehicles to deliver parts and products to customers safely and efficiently.
- Use delivery fleet management handheld devices to process deliveries, capture customer signatures, update vehicle mileage, and complete daily vehicle inspections.
- Keep vehicles clean, maintained, and perform daily inspections prior to operating.
- Secure delivery vehicles, keys, fuel/fleet credit cards, handheld devices, and collected monies at all times.
- Pick up customer returns (new, warranty, cores, etc.) and complete driver return slips.
- Communicate any customer issues or special needs to store management.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, or damage to the store manager immediately.
- Ensure fuel tanks are filled, lock vehicles, and secure them at the end of the day.
- Clock in/out according to company policy.
- Perform customer service, sweeping, general stocking, merchandising, and errands as needed.
- Occasionally assist customers, serve as cashier, and help with merchandising tasks when business dictates.
- Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to changing delivery situations.
- Driving record must meet the company’s 14/18‑point record system.
- Must possess a legally required state driver’s license and meet company mandated driving eligibility requirements.
- Familiarity with automotive parts (desired).
- Ability to operate other light store equipment (desired).
- Fluency in multiple languages, especially Spanish (highly desired).
