Role In Summary
Whirlpool seeks a qualified Analyst Engineer in Materials Management, based onsite in Marion, OH. The role involves leading kaizen projects, managing purchase orders, scheduling, and tracking work. Some weekend work may be necessary.
Responsibilities- Support day‑to‑day production to achieve plant metrics in safety, quality, cost, and delivery using systems such as Leansuite, Lodestar, and Gensuite.
- Drive Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Engagement throughout the plant.
- Develop creative solutions and lead capital projects that support the long‑term strategy of the Marion operation.
- Focus on rack management and design with new product integration.
- Lead route maximization through data analysis.
- Lead World Class Manufacturing expansion activities through the Logistics Customer Service pillar.
- Lead continuous improvement activities using WCM methodology to meet plant metrics.
- Perform root‑cause analysis based on data to eliminate losses.
- Manage kaizen projects from start to finish, supporting operations with creative solutions to immediate problems.
- Specify, order, and assure proper implementation of new processes and equipment.
- Maintain quality standards within the department.
- Communicate with work teams, shop‑floor leaders, and other departments for maximum efficiency.
- Support maintenance in troubleshooting critical issues.
- Drive process improvements using lean manufacturing concepts and tools.
- Demonstrate capability in leading and managing large‑scale projects, installations, and vendor relationships.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Materials Management.
- Presentation and facilitation skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of plant operations.
- Strong judgment, planning, and analytical skills with the ability to introduce new concepts.
- Experience collaborating across departments.
- Well‑developed communication, conflict management, coaching, interpersonal, and team‑building skills.
- Solid decision‑making and judgment skills.
