Position: Staff RN - Med Surg Ortho (Marion)

The RN provides general nursing care to patients and families across the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for the practice of nursing as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates tasks to licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel (UAPs) according to the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.

Responsibilities

and Duties
  • Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment as applicable to the population or individual (30%).
  • Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems (30%).
  • Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes; revises plan of care with the multidisciplinary team as needed (20%).
  • Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to improve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance (10%).
  • Operations – Performs duties with focus on safety, quality, and efficiency as part of a High Reliability Organization (HRO) framework (10%).

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • BSN required at 5 years of employment
