Job DescriptionA Sheet Metal Journeyman and Foreman is responsible for daily work at sites, including all types of sheet metal. The individual should read and understand blueprints, communicate effectively with all personnel on the job-site, including subcontractors, and represent the company professionally.
Responsibilities and Duties- Lay out and install sheet metal and duct systems.
- Read blueprints and interpret specifications.
- Install hangars or supports for systems.
- Assist with the assembly and installation of HVAC equipment as necessary.
- Keep equipment in good working order and ensure proper maintenance.
- Follow OSHA and TPMC safety standards, keeping work area clean.
- Offload deliveries and load trucks at job sites.
- 8 years of commercial/industrial experience.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of sheet metal and HVAC installation.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Ability to work within precise accuracy and productivity standards.
- Basic math and computer skills, read & interpret submittals.
- Ability to run multiple small crews on the same jobsite.
- Ability to forecast and schedule work.
- Determine materials required for jobsite and place orders.
