OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOBMaintains perpetual inventories of all materials and finished goods. To assist in receiving, storing, and shipping of raw materials and finished goods for Wyandot, Inc. Transport products and materials in a safe, efficient manner using semi-tractor and trailer and or forklift to and from Wyandot Plants as well as other appropriate destinations. Must abide by all GMP practices and C.O.C. plant rules and food safety regulations, including work, safety, and sanitation rules.
MAINDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides production support to and from the warehouse area, this includes raw material goods and finished goods.
- Rotates stock within the warehouse properly (FIFO).
- Assures proper storage of items within the warehouse.
- May be required to offload bulk oils and corns into the correct tanks and or bins.
- Will be required to seal all trailers after the completion of live loads / live unloads.
- Operates forklift in a safe manner with or without a load, referencing the load and safe height of forks while empty in operation.
- Operates tractor trailers in a safe manner while providing safe transportation.
- Receives inbound merchandise, by common carrier and/or company fleet, and maintains proper documentation of these items.
- Prepares trucks for shipping by accurately staging the load and loading such trucks while maintaining proper documentation of items shipped.
- Maintains accurate inventory records of all items being stored in the warehouse areas. This includes label inventory, stock items, and bins.
- Hooks up tractors to appropriate trailer for transport and spots trailers at destination.
- Records listing of trailers in our lot and doors accurately at all Wyandot Inc. locations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Detailed oriented with extreme accuracy.
- Able to move items weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be responsive to Production needs and schedule changes.
- Requires the ability to maintain an active forklift certification.
- Able to work well with co-workers and supervision in a team environment.
- Maintains good basic math skills.
- Able to communicate clearly in English in both verbal and written form.
- Able to work in a fast paced, non-climate-controlled environment.
- Must be able to utilize different technology throughout shift, or ability to be trained on equipment.
- Safety shoes and earplugs are mandatory in designated areas.
- CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) in good standing is required.
- Valid Driver’s licenses required.
- Must be able to pass DOT Physical and Drug Test
