Outdoor Youth Worker – Fordhall Organic Farm
We have a wonderful job opportunity at Fordhall Organic Farm working with vulnerable young people, as part of our alternative curriculum provision, Branching Out – the Fordhall Youth Project.
✨You will utilise nature and our landscape to improve social skills, reduce feelings of isolation, improve mental wellbeing and self-belief of our young people, whilst providing a lasting change in their environmental awareness and approach to life. These weekly sessions are held outdoors and operate throughout the school year.
Responsibilities- Deliver weekly outdoor sessions for young people during the school year.
- Plan and lead school visits throughout the term.
- Run events for children and families during holidays and occasional weekends.
- Assist the Youth and Volunteer Conservation Lead with development of Countryside Worker Apprentices and the Conservation Management Plan.
- Support adult volunteers and NEET individuals working towards conservation projects, site maintenance and events.
- Complete administrative tasks, including project impact reporting and funding outcome monitoring.
- Love nature and enjoy working outdoors.
- Person‑centred, caring, empathic approach to work with vulnerable young people.
- Adept admin skills to support reporting and monitoring.
- Enthusiastic deliverer capable of engaging young people and volunteers.
