We have an exciting opportunity at the Market Harborough and Bosworth Partnership for a Practice Nurse with an interest in respiratory to join our established nursing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy, highly regarded, supportive and forward‑thinking GP training practice.

The purpose of this post is the delivery of high quality primary care nursing services to the practice population of 35,000 patients. You will work with practice policies, protocols and guidelines whilst using experience and clinical judgement to provide nurse interventions and care.
Main duties of the jobPrevious experience within a primary care setting would be an advantage, although full training will be given to a suitable applicant/s and we will consider applicants from community/secondary care backgrounds.
Working within the NMC code the post holder will deliver care that is evidence based and cost effective.
Alongside general practice nursing duties such as vaccinations, wound care and management, and cervical screening, you will deliver respiratory clinics (namely asthma and COPD) to both well‑managed and complex patients.
You will be responsive to patients needs and contribute to improving quality standards.
You will work collaboratively with the wider multi‑disciplinary general practice team to meet the needs of the patients.
About usMarket Harborough and Bosworth Partnership looks after two dispensing practices. Market Harborough Medical Centre is in the centre of a busy market town, our branch site is at St Lukes Treatment Centre where we also run the MIU, and our village practice is in Husbands Bosworth. We have a large list size of patients with a team of list holdings Partners and Salaried GPs.
We have an experienced Nursing Team, and a variety of additional roles including paramedics, pharmacists, and physician associates. We have a very active and engaged PPG and are proud to be research active, and both a training and a teaching site.
To work independently whilst accepting professional accountability with the scope of your clinical practice and expertise.
Sign post effectively to other clinicians and agencies when appropriate.
To work evening and Saturday sessions as required by the Practice.
Promote health and well‑being through the use of health promotion, health education and screening.
Apply infection control measures in all areas of practice.
Undertake clinics and offer focused lifestyle advice in line with local and national guidance and Quality Outcomes Framework indicators.
- Diabetes (not essential)
- Family Planning (not essential)
- Cervical screening
- Flu Immunisation
- Childhood Immunisations
- Other complex injections
- Registered General Nurse (Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council).
- Additional training in asthma and COPD management.
- Experience in the management of patients with asthma and COPD
- Recent and relevant experience in primary care
