Williams & Partners is looking for a Senior Tax Accountant who is committed to a career in taxation to join our team.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Preparing and reviewing Corporate Tax Returns in accordance with Firm standards for Canadian-based corporations, Canadian subsidiaries of foreign-based corporations, and Canadian-based corporations with operations in foreign jurisdictions
  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns, terminal returns, estate returns and trust returns along with various information returns
  • Researching and interpreting tax issues, preparing memorandums, client letters and assisting in the development of opinion on various tax issues
  • Preparing tax provision and accruals in accordance with applicable accounting standards
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of tax and estate planning strategies
  • Liaising with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals
  • Keeping Partners, Managers and other team members informed, on an ongoing basis, of progress and significant issues; and other ad-hoc duties as required
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education and Professional Skills/Knowledge:

  • CPA designation or enrolled in CPA program
  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience in a similar role within public accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with acute attention to detail
  • Analytical, organized and strong time-management skills
  • Able to work under pressure and multitask, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
