About the Role
This Co‑op Tax Analyst position at Johnson & Johnson’s Canadian Country Tax Centre provides hands‑on experience in corporate income tax, sales tax and withholding tax matters for Canadian operating companies. The term runs from August
2026 to April
2027 and is a full‑time 37.5‑hour week.
- Prepare the annual T2 corporate income tax return, T106 information returns and non‑resident withholding tax returns.
- Prepare monthly sales tax returns for GST/HST, QST and PST.
- Maintain non‑resident payments subject to withholding tax and manage required remittances.
- Analyze tax balance sheet accounts and prepare quarterly reconciliations.
- Implement system changes for sales tax initiatives such as tax code changes and new product introductions.
- Document and maintain quarter‑end and month‑end close activities, including monthly clearing journal entries.
- Assist with audit support by collecting accounting records and preparing analysis.
- Maintain documentation to ensure smooth transition for future Co‑ops and reduce cycle time.
- Respond to ad‑hoc reporting and analysis requests from management.
- Freshman in an accredited university program, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- In final two years of a bachelor’s degree in a co‑op program is preferred.
- Desire to pursue a professional accounting designation.
- Preferably completed at least one co‑op term with relevant tax or accounting experience.
- Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic team environment.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or medical devices industry is an asset.
Hourly rates:
Second Year $22.00/hr, Third Year $23.50/hr, Fourth Year $24.50/hr, Master’s $27.00/hr.
