Accounting Manager

A well-established food manufacturing company in Markham is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations and support financial reporting, cost control, inventory accounting, and overall finance functions.

This role requires a hands‑on accounting leader who understands manufacturing operations, inventory, costing, and production‑related reporting. The successful candidate will work closely with the Financial Controller and internal teams to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and timely completion of accounting activities.

• Assist the Financial Controller with journal entries, payroll, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Monitor inventory, cost of goods sold, work‑in‑progress, finished goods costing, and inventory valuation.
• Prepare cost reconciliation reports, production reporting, WIP analysis, and COGS reports.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance reporting.
• Coordinate year‑end audit requirements and work with external accountants or auditors as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team.
• Support improvements to accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
• Previous experience in food manufacturing or a related manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, production reporting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment.

• Annual salary range: $85,000 to $95,000
