Controller Finance Leadership Student Works

Lead finance transformation at Student Works as Controller, using CPA expertise, forecasting, and controls to support planned growth. Work directly with executives and the advisory board.
This first Controller role suits a progressive accounting leader ready to shape finance within a Canadian family business. You will guide accounting operations, strengthen systems, and support investment decisions. The position spans budgeting, reporting, tax, payroll, compliance, and business analysis across divisions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team
Review financial statements, journal entries, and spending approvals
Build budgets, forecasts, and cash-flow plans
Prepare management reports and advisory board packages
Model growth, investments, margins, and compensation structures
Requirements:
CPA designation and progressive accounting experience
Team leadership and Controller-level readiness
Private, owner-managed, or multi-entity business experience
Knowledge of ASPE, Canadian tax, payroll, and remittances
Strong modelling, communication, and business judgment
