Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 per year
Hours:
40 hours per week
The Construction Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis, and provide tender support for building repair and rehabilitation projects. The role also includes assisting with technical site inspections and project coordination activities, ensuring that all work aligns with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities Construction Estimating & Cost Analysis- Perform detailed quantity take-offs from drawings and site conditions
- Prepare cost estimates and scope-based pricing for building repair and rehabilitation projects
- Analyze labour, materials, and equipment requirements to support accurate cost analysis
- Support tendering processes, including bid comparison and cost evaluation
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and maintain vendor relationships
- Evaluate change orders, review progress payment applications, and assist in preparing budget forecasts
- Assist with site inspections of building envelope systems, including documenting field data, photographic records, and observed deficiencies
- Support field testing and investigations and assist in preparing technical reports and specifications
- Interpret construction drawings and ensure proposed scopes comply with applicable building codes and standards
- Coordinate project activities between clients, contractors, and internal teams
- Track project progress and assist with scheduling and project deliverables
- Participate in progress meetings and maintain accurate project documentation
