Ledcor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Stations to join our team on a major transit project in Markham, Ontario. This site-based role is ideal for a construction professional with experience delivering transit stations, transportation infrastructure, and heavy civil projects. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will support all aspects of project execution, including civil, structural, architectural, and building systems scopes, while contributing to project controls, commercial management, stakeholder coordination, and successful project delivery.
EssentialResponsibilities
- Support the planning, execution, and delivery of a station infrastructure project, including civil, structural, architectural, and building systems scopes.
- Assist in managing project budgets, cost forecasts, cash flow projections, invoicing, progress claims, and monthly reporting requirements.
- Maintain project schedules and work closely with project controls teams to track progress, identify risks, develop recovery plans, and achieve key milestones.
- Coordinate procurement activities, including tender preparation, bid evaluations, scope reviews, subcontract awards, and material/equipment tracking.
- Support contract administration activities, including change management, claims documentation, subcontract management, and commercial correspondence.
- Monitor project performance by tracking cost, schedule, productivity, risk, and quality metrics, and provide recommendations for corrective actions when required.
- Collaborate with owners, consultants, designers, municipalities, utility providers, regulatory agencies, and other project stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary construction activities and manage interfaces between civil, structural, architectural, track, rail systems, and MEP scopes.
- Review drawings, specifications, design packages, and construction plans to identify opportunities for optimization, constructability improvements, and risk mitigation.
- Assist with the management of RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, permits, and project documentation.
- Participate in project meetings, stakeholder meetings, and coordination sessions while preparing action plans and follow-up items.
- Identify project risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impacts on schedule, budget, and project performance.
- Support commissioning, turnover, and closeout activities to ensure successful project completion.
- Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection by promoting compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards, project safety requirements, and applicable legislation.
- 5+ years of experience in construction as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Project Engineer, or similar project management role.
- Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering transit, rail, transportation, station, heavy civil, bridge, roadway, structural, or major infrastructure projects.
- Experience working for a General Contractor on large-scale infrastructure projects in Canada.
