Part-Time Elementary Teacher/Tutor

We are seeking part-time teacher-tutors at Oxford Learning Markham Boxgrove. Ideal candidates love working with students, enjoy teaching language and social studies, and are passionate about building skills in these areas. Tutors do not need to lesson plan; all lessons are pre-planned, and you’ll receive training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Teacher-tutors work after‑school and evenings Monday‑Thursday (4:00‑8:00 pm) and Saturday mornings (9:30‑12:30 pm). We prefer a commitment until the end of the June term, and continuing through the summer is even better. This is an in‑person role requiring reliable attendance and a short commute to the location. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification an asset
• Good knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 8 curriculum

• Some experience teaching/tutoring at a Kindergarten‑to‑Grade 8 level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
• Teaching online and in‑person (though this role is primarily in‑person)
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
• Filling in post‑lesson notes
• Completing daily student communication updates
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
