Position title: Instructor Therapist (Evenings and Weekends)

Program: Kinark Child & Family Services → Autism Services

Location: Markham, ON L3R 5X5

Reg/Temp: Temporary

Start date: August 17, 2026

End date: February 20, 2027

Full/Part time: Part-Time

Step 2: $29.09;
Step 3: $30.65

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Client Services: Deliver intensive behavioural intervention using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with children and youth with autism. Provide one-to-one and small group instruction in home, clinic, centre, and classroom settings. Develop and implement evidence-based programming, teach skills (communication, social, play, life skills), and reduce challenging behavior. Liaise with parents to provide progress updates and support parent coaching. Create teaching materials and collect/monitor data.
  • Data Collection and Review: Conduct assessments, monitor progress, and maintain detailed daily records of challenging behavior, skill acquisition, and other interventions.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain the clinical binder for each client (datasheets, daily graphing, and programming adjustments). Participate in agency initiatives to enhance supports and services.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Autism and Behaviour Science, Behavioural Psychology, or a related field. (College diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, and Developmental Service Worker may be considered.)
  • Candidates currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program may be considered.
  • 1 year of experience delivering ABA-based programming is an asset.
  • Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) an asset.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, time-management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Travel in the York and/or Simcoe area is required; valid Ontario driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and willingness to obtain business-use automobile insurance with minimum liability of $1 million.
  • Knowledge of cultural diversity and proficiency in other languages are assets.
  • First Aid/CPR training an asset.
