Child Care Assistant Teacher

Position: Child Care Assistant Teacher Role
Embark on a rewarding journey with Family Day as an Assistant Teacher at Hagerman House in Markham, ON. Support early childhood education and create meaningful learning experiences for children aged 0-12.

In this essential role, you will partner with E.C.E. teachers to implement programs that meet the developmental needs of children. You will play a significant part in assessing progress, creating individualized plans, and supporting children with special needs. Your compassionate attitude will help children navigate their emotions and build independence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement High/Scope® educational strategies

• Assist in observing and assessing students’ progress

• Develop tailored individual program plans

• Encourage respectful interactions among families and peers

• Help children develop self-care skills

Requirements:

• Experience in a child care or educational environment

• Knowledge of early learning frameworks and practices

• Valid Police Vulnerable Sector Check and health documents

• Standard First Aid and CPR, level C certification

• Must work during weekday hours from 7 am-6 pm
