Part‑Time High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor
OverviewOxford Learning Unionville is seeking part‑time teacher‑tutors who can inspire students in grades 9‑12 with mathematics and science. The role is ideal for educators passionate about working directly with students, eager to share knowledge, and seeking flexible learning center hours.
Position RequirementsAll teachers will work after‑school and evening hours (4 pm‑8:30 pm) and Saturday 9 am‑1:30 pm, with a commitment to the school year and preferably through summer. The role is in‑person and requires a short commute to Unionville.
Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
Applicants should meet the majority of the following requirements:
Education- Bachelor’s degree or comparable certification in a relevant field.
- Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Good knowledge of current grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
- Experience teaching or tutoring math and science for grade 9‑12 (or equivalent) levels.
- Strong English written and oral communication skills.
- Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding.
- Ability to multitask and work with up to three students simultaneously.
- Teach up to three students at a time at various levels.
- Deliver instruction both in‑person and online.
- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Complete post‑lesson notes.
- Provide daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor at all times.

- Monday to Thursday evenings: 4 pm‑8:30 pm.
- Saturday: 9 am‑1:30 pm.
Hourly rate: $19.50 – $21.50 per hour.
