Position: Canoe Trip Guide at Trails Youth Initiatives

Embark on a transformative journey with Trails Youth Initiatives as a Canoe Trip Guide. This full-year or seasonal role shapes vulnerable youth through outdoor education and community-building activities.

As a Program Facilitator, you will mentor youth aged 11-17, providing supervision and teaching healthy living principles and outdoor skills. Your work will involve leading camping and canoeing trips both onsite at Trails' Lakeside site and offsite in Ontario's backcountry, contributing to their personal growth and resilience. This full-time position prioritizes commitment and connection to youth, making lasting impacts through outdoor experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver outdoor and character education curriculum

• Provide 24-hour supervision for participants

• Organize and lead camping and canoe trips

• Assess participant progress and learning

• Foster a safe and supportive environment for participants

Requirements:

• Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

• Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C

• Leadership experience with at-risk youth

• Wilderness Advanced First Aid certification preferred

• Willingness to work irregular hours
