This temporary internship spans 28 weeks, providing a unique opportunity to support exhibition development at Markham Museum. The role encompasses various responsibilities such as maintaining existing exhibitions and managing project timelines. Collaborate with a dedicated curatorial team while gaining valuable insights into museum operations and community outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in planning and design for major exhibitions
• Maintain and care for current exhibitions on site
• Document project progress and manage budgets
• Draft tender documents and facilitate bidding processes
• Coordinate research and community outreach activities
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field
• Interest in museum services and operations
• Good organizational and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 20 Kgs and work outdoors
• Familiarity with collections management software is an asset
