High School Math & Science Teacher/Tutor Wanted

Motivated by mathematics? Sharp with science? Excited by equations in both fields? Eager to help students succeed in math and science? Our hours count! Gain valuable teaching experience at Oxford Learning Unionville, a learning centre that offers part‑time teacher‑tutor roles for students who love numbers, equations, and helping others build their skills.

Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class – all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will receive full training in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

Position Requirements

All Teacher‑Tutors work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:30 pm) and Saturdays (9:00 am – 1:30 pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred, and continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.

This role is in‑person. You must be able to commute to the Unionville location. Relocation packages are not available.

Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field
  • Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification an asset
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9–12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math including Advanced Functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, vectors, physics, chemistry, and biology.
Experience
  • Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details)
  • Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
  • Teaching online and in‑person
  • Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
  • Filling in post‑lesson notes
  • Completing daily student communication updates
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
