Markham Museum Curatorial Assistant Internship

Working within the Economic Growth, Culture & Entrepreneurship Department, you will be part of planning a significant exhibition and enhancing community programs. Key functions involve inventory management, analyzing collections, and supporting current exhibits while engaging volunteers and students. Your contributions will drive meaningful public interactions and the overall mission of the Museum.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and update collection inventory and recommendations
• Identify gaps for new Collecting Strategy
• Plan storage upgrades and manage volunteer projects
• Assist in care and maintenance of existing exhibitions
• Participate in network events and support team initiatives
Requirements:
• Degree or diploma in Museum Studies or a related field
• Ability to effectively communicate and present
• Experience working with volunteers and managing collections
• Capacity for heavy lifting and working in various conditions
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills
