Position: STEM Instructor & Summer Camp STEM Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, and student-centered STEM Instructor to teach students aged 3–16 through engaging, hands‑on learning experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education and enjoys inspiring young learners to develop critical thinking, creativity, problem‑solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

In addition to regular STEM classes, the instructor will play an active role in developing and delivering STEM-focused summer camps, workshops, competitions, and enrichment programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and interactive STEM lessons for students aged 3–16.
  • Teach a variety of STEM subjects, including science, engineering, coding, robotics, technology, mathematics, and innovation projects.
  • Design age-appropriate, hands‑on learning experiences that encourage inquiry, experimentation, and problem‑solving.
  • Develop lesson plans aligned with educational objectives and student learning outcomes.
  • Introduce students to STEM concepts through project‑based learning, design challenges, and collaborative activities.
  • Teach coding and computational thinking using age‑appropriate platforms and tools.
  • Guide students in robotics, engineering design, scientific investigations, and technology‑based projects.
  • Foster creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and innovation in the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning setting.
  • Support STEM showcases, competitions, exhibitions, demonstrations, and school events.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Summer Camp Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging STEM activities for summer camps and seasonal enrichment programs.
  • Design exciting camp projects such as robotics challenges, engineering builds, coding activities, science experiments, and innovation competitions.
  • Lead group projects that promote teamwork, creativity, and problem‑solving.
  • Supervise students during camp activities and ensure their safety and well‑being.
  • Organize STEM demonstrations, showcases, and end‑of‑camp presentations.
  • Create themed camp experiences that make STEM learning fun, interactive, and memorable.
  • Collaborate with instructors from other departments to develop cross‑disciplinary camp activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM‑related fields such as Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Experience teaching STEM subjects to children and teenagers.
  • Strong knowledge of STEM concepts and project‑based learning methodologies.
  • Experience with coding, robotics, engineering design, or science education.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts in an engaging and age‑appropriate manner.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Passion for working with children and inspiring curiosity and innovation.
  • Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Professional, responsible, and punctual.
Preferred Assets
  • Experience teaching robotics platforms such as LEGO Education, VEX Robotics, Arduino, Micro:bit, or similar technologies.
  • Experience teaching coding languages or platforms such as Scratch, Python, JavaScript, Blockly, or App Development.
  • Experience preparing students for STEM competitions, science fairs, robotics competitions, or innovation challenges.
  • Previous experience teaching in summer camps, enrichment programs, after‑school programs, or educational workshops.
  • Ontario Teaching Certification (OCT) is an asset.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, 3D Printing, Digital Design, or Engineering Prototyping.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
  • Creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic teaching style.

Pay: $17.20–$40.00 per hour
