Program Facilitator - Youth Outdoor Guide

Location: Whitchurch-Stouffville

Join Trails Youth Initiatives as a Program Facilitator, guiding youth through outdoor experiences and meaningful community connections. Emphasizing experiential learning, you'll make a significant difference in their lives.

In this role, you will supervise and instruct youth aged 11-17 during outdoor activities such as canoeing and camping. You will work closely with participants to develop leadership skills and emotional intelligence through our unique outdoor education program. Both full-year and summer positions are available, with a strong focus on building community among at-risk youth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead youth in outdoor adventures and skill-building activities

• Ensure participant safety and support during programs

• Collaborate in regular team meetings and curriculum delivery

• Apply behavior management strategies effectively

• Maintain communication and relationships with participants

Requirements:

• Valid Police Check and Standard First Aid

• Experience with youth mentorship

• Qualification in Wilderness First Aid preferred

• Commitment to weekends and summer sessions

• Strong leadership and communication skills
