Skate Instructor - Temporary

Position: Learn to Skate Instructor - Temporary Role
Join the City of Markham as a Learn to Skate Instructor for children ages 3-10. This part time role focuses on creating a safe, dynamic learning atmosphere for young skaters.

The instructor will assist the Head Instructor in all aspects of the Learn to Skate program, ensuring a positive and supportive environment for participants. Applicants should have experience working with children in ice sports and be capable of teaching basic skating skills. A strong sense of communication and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help organize and deliver skating sessions effectively

• Ensure safety and engagement for all participants

• Support children and staff during programs

• Follow and enforce safety procedures consistently

• Foster positive interactions with parents and visitors

Requirements:

• Minimum two years of experience in instructional roles

• Current Standard First Aid or CPR certification

• Level 1 NCCP Theory and skating proficiency

• Strong verbal communication and leadership skills

• Obligation to complete Vulnerable Sector Screening
