Position: High School Biology/Chemistry Teacher (IB & OSSD)

NOIC ACADEMY is seeking a dedicated and passionate Biology/ Chemistry Teacher to join our high school faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in Biology and/or Chemistry to students in Grades 11&12, preparing students for academic success and scientific literacy, while fostering a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, and deliver effective biology and/or chemistry lessons in alignment with the Ontario curriculum standards
  • Incorporate laboratory activities, experiments, and inquiry-based learning to support hands-on understanding.
  • Assess, evaluate, and report on student progress using a variety of assessment tools.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
  • Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance student learning and collaboration
  • Participate in school activities, staff meetings, mentor-teacher conferences, and professional development.
  • Collaborate with the Admission Department to assign new students to mentors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field.
  • Teacher Certification in Ontario (OCT) and experience teaching in an IB programme is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching biology and or chemistry at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of biology and chemistry curriculum and pedagogy.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to student success and lifelong learning.
