Plan and lead basic art programs at Aaniin Community Centre in Markham, using lesson planning and instructional skills. This temporary part-time position serves preschool participants through adults.
The City of Markham seeks an Arts and Crafts Instructor for Recreation, Community Services. You will facilitate activities, adapt lessons to group abilities, and maintain safe, positive program environments. The position also includes preparing supplies, communicating with families, and guiding program support staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate, lead, and supervise basic art programs
- Write and submit group-specific lesson plans
- Prepare equipment and maintain supply inventories
- Meet parents before or after classes when needed
- Enforce City safety policies and procedures
- High school diploma successfully completed
- Two years' combined instructional experience with children or adults
- High Five certification and Healthy Child Development adherence
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR C
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
