Summary:
We are seeking a few highly qualified Robotics AI System engineers who will be responsible for designing, implementing, training and deploying state‑of‑the‑art embodied AI models on Qualcomm platform.
Basically, the candidate must have a strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, particularly those related to robotics use‑cases (autonomous navigation, vision‑based perception, robot arm manipulation, or lidar processing ML algorithms). Model optimization and quantization experience are also important.
The ideal candidate must be well‑versed in recent advancements in Vision Transformers, Action Transformers, and VLM/VLA models. The role requires facilitating collaboration with various Qualcomm horizontal AI teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or SIT experience in robotics projects.
OR
PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, or Computer Vision and 2+ years of Systems Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:- PhD in related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or master’s with 10+ years.>
- Strong understanding of Machine Learning fundamentals with multiple external publications/patents.
- General LLM/VLM development pipeline.
- Reinforcement learning knowledge and training skills, and sim2real.
- Hands‑on development experience of end‑to‑end robot applications.
- Good at embedded software development with excellent analytical, development, and problem‑solving skills.
- Being familiar with Pi_0 or GROOT N1 is a great plus.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Provides supervision/guidance to other junior team members.
- Decision‑making is significant in nature and affects work beyond immediate work group.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
- Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
- Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
